An intraoral camera is a small, high-resolution imaging device that allows our dental team to capture detailed images of the inside of your mouth. This advanced technology makes it easier to closely examine teeth and gums, identify concerns early, and clearly explain treatment options. By improving visibility and communication, intraoral cameras help patients better understand their oral health and feel more confident in their care.

An intraoral camera is a handheld device equipped with a tiny camera lens that captures high-quality images and videos of the teeth, gums, and other oral structures. These images can be magnified and displayed on a monitor in real time, allowing our endodontist and team to examine areas of the mouth that are difficult to see with the naked eye.
This technology supports early detection of dental issues such as cavities, cracks, gum disease, and other concerns. Because problems can be identified sooner, treatment is often simpler and more effective. Intraoral cameras also make it easier for patients to see what the dentist sees, helping them understand their diagnosis and treatment recommendations.
Using an intraoral camera offers several important advantages, including:
The intraoral camera was first introduced in the early 1990s as a way to improve visualization inside the mouth. Prior to this technology, dental X-rays were the primary method for viewing internal structures, but X-rays do not clearly show soft tissues such as gums. Intraoral cameras filled this gap by offering detailed, real-time images of both teeth and soft tissues.
Today, intraoral cameras are an essential part of modern dental care, supporting accurate diagnosis and patient-centered communication.
Our infection control measures ensure your care is both safe and comfortable. Your safety and well-being are our top priority, and we always employ the highest level of precautions to prevent the spread of infection.
