If your bite hurts, feels “high,” or keeps triggering sensitivity, you’re usually dealing with uneven force not a mystery, not “in your head,” and not something that should be handled by guessing.
At Angela Leung DDS PC – The Endodontics Implant Center, we use Tekscan (T-Scan) digital bite force analysis to measure where your bite hits, how hard it hits, and when it hits in real time. That means we can pinpoint overload that articulating paper can miss and guide bite adjustments with data you can actually see.
A lot of bite discomfort follows the same frustrating pattern:
Articulating paper can show contact location but it can’t reliably show force intensity or contact timing. Tekscan was built to add those missing pieces: measured force + timing so overload doesn’t hide behind normal-looking marks.
Leaving a heavy contact can lead to:
The goal is stability first: once bite forces are balanced, symptoms calm down and dental work has a better chance to last.
Tekscan (often called T-Scan) records your bite as a dynamic measurement so we can see the sequence of contacts and which tooth is taking the hit first, and hardest.
Two people can have the same-looking paper marks and totally different bite mechanics. Tekscan lets us document:
Instead of “we adjusted it tell us how it feels,” we aim for:

Replacing missing teeth with durable artificial implants.

Specialized care for complex dental procedures.

Specialized dental care treating tooth pulp and roots.

Specialized care for gums and supporting structures.

Repairing teeth for function, health, aesthetics.

Enhance smiles with aesthetic and dental treatments.

Precise evaluation of bite alignment and jaw function.

Clear, precise guidance for safe and effective surgery.
Tekscan is especially useful when symptoms don’t match what you see in the mirror or when you’ve already had multiple bite tweaks that didn’t stick.
Implants don’t have the same shock-absorbing ligament a natural tooth has, so force control matters. Tekscan helps us identify bite patterns that can overload implant crowns or adjacent teeth.
If you wake up with tight jaw muscles, see wear facets, or keep getting “mystery cracks,” a force/timing map can show the bite pattern your muscles are reacting to.
Not every bite pain is purely bite mechanics. If symptoms suggest cracks, decay, or inflammation, we’ll evaluate first and sequence care safely especially because this practice also treats endodontic problems and complex restorative/implant cases under one roof.
This visit is built to be practical and outcome-tracked.
We document the details that matter:
You bite on the sensor while we record:
We keep it conservative:
We re-scan to verify the overload pattern has improved.
If your bite is evolving or muscles are guarding, follow-up verification prevents the frustrating cycle of random re-adjustments.
We’ll give you a written plan with costs before treatment begins, then help you choose a realistic path forward.
If symptoms are intermittent, restorations keep failing, or implants/crowns need protection under real load, measured force + timing can prevent the trial-and-error loop. Tekscan provides dynamic occlusal measurement that paper alone can’t.
That’s a real concern. Our bias is conservative: measure → small change → re-measure. If pain signals a deeper issue (crack/inflammation), we pause and evaluate rather than grinding away structure.
Many bite corrections are minor and may not require anesthetic, but we tailor comfort to the situation, sensitivity level, and what we’re correcting.
You list insurance/payment options and financial resources through patient resources.
If clenching/grinding is driving overload, a guard can protect teeth and restorations after the bite is stabilized.
